Conscientious breeders deserve to have a relationship with a veterinarian and staff familiar with your goals, willing to work with you, share your concerns, and revel in your joy. The Animal Hospital by the Sea is excited to be able to provide exceptional service to those interested in maintaining quality breeding programs.

Today’s breeder benefits from an extensive array of scientific tests and services to help evaluate and manage a breeding program. An AKC Breeder of Merit herself, Dr. Dieden grew up in the dog sport world and has more than 25 years’ experience with training, exhibiting, breeding, whelping, and raising successful conformation and performance dogs. She has also experienced the joy of working with cat breeders and is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the Society for Theriogenology.

Dr. Dieden not only shares your enthusiasm, but also appreciates the dedication, commitment, and investment it takes to manage a successful breeding program. She provides a wide range of personal expertise in everything from health screening (OFA, CHIC, and DNA) to breeding management (timing, collection, vaginal and surgical inseminations) pregnancy confirmation by palpation and blood test, birthing assistance (including elective Caesarian section), and neonatal care. Finally, she is available to help guide you in the raising of healthy, well-adjusted litters through to the time of their transition to their new homes.
